mingle is a movement for social change, bringing back nostalgic socialising in a tech flooded world.

What should I expect?
Our Events

Includes: Journaling, guided relaxation, light comedic connection prompts - All Optional.
Expect to find a spot to sit then for us to guide you through the whole night. This often has breaks and areas outside to refresh yourself. Bring food, drink or friends to increase your comfort.
A Community Night with
An experienced/popular Musician
Light connection activities between music sets. e.g. ‘Explain your favourite month last year to your partner‘

Community Fest (November)
Community Fest is WA’s yearly Community celebration, often 300+ people, including 2 connection experiences, the WA Community Awards, discussion panels and popular music acts. Experience the energy of a crowd at this event in the beautiful Australian Sun. This event also comes with a zone for recharging and a zone for quality conversation.

Who goes?
KIND Indie Folks who VALUE FRIENDSHIP go to mingle. Events are 18+ but the demographic is 25-49 yrs.
Can I bring old friends? Can I come on my own?
Whether catching up with old friends or making new ones - mingle has two areas for folks. Use our ‘Old mates’ section when bringing old mates or our moshpit for meeting new crew, or use both!
What if i’m apprehensive?
To be honest, we would be too. We’ve had a million social groups our whole lives and even we can understand. But we believe in the power of community so we specifically create a ‘choose you own adventure’ experience where people can choose their own pace. Get around certain prompts or relax and do your own thing in periods. With so many types of optional activities and zones, direct yourself based on how you’re feeling.

Who created mingle?
In 2021, 3 Freo Folks (Riley Burke, Shannan Keating & Halley Argue) came together at the ending of several communities and worked together to try pull off something pretty huge. Bring back real life connection in a social media obsessed world.
Since it’s inception in 2021, mingle has grown from WA to the East Coast with the support of Steph Miller (now co-owner), Adam-James, Sophie Fabiennelabat and our valuable inner circle.
